Your Hosts

Nell and I have enjoyed staying in bed and breakfast inns on our travels for many years, and, naturally, we began to think of having one of our own.  When the opportunity to buy a beautiful 1932 vintage home in Navasota, while at the same time moving much closer to both our boys and their families came along,, we eagerly jumped at the chance.

It has taken us about 15 months to renovate the house and to add a two-story extension, but we have enjoyed the project, and we were able to open for business on the first of March, this year, (2005).   Since then, we have thoroughly enjoyed hosting visitors to our home who were in the area for graduation  and seminars at Texas A&M University,  a newly-wed couple,  seminars at  local Alpaca raising facilities, and others just getting away from the city.

During our twenty years as an Air Force family, we collected  beautiful things from all over the world for our home.  We are pleased to share  our art collection and library of books and music with B&B guests.

Although we are both graduates of the University of Texas, we have found Navasota to be a most pleasant place to live and have enjoyed  our proximity to Texas A&M University.  One of our sons is an Aggie, and lives with his family in Bryan, where he is a school administrator.   Our other son is a professor at the UT Law School in Austin.  We have five grandchildren in all, and grandparenting is our favorite activity.   We are active members of the First United Methodist Church, the Navasota Garden Club, the Education Foundation, and Keep Navasota Beautiful.  IN addition we belong to the Grimes County Chamber of Commerce and the Bed and Breakfast Association of the Brazos Valley.

Come join us for a restful stay  and lively breakfast conversation!
